Crew Services

Superyacht Employment Services

Due to the transient nature of superyachts and the international crew usually found on board, employing 20 superyacht crew can be more complex than employing thousands of staff at your land based business.

Our Crew Services package has been developed to take away the myriad of international differences in employing people of many nationalities on a vessel that might visit numerous countries in just one voyage. Covering payroll and crew contracts to protect both the yacht and her crew and ensuring you are fully MLC compliant means you can concentrate on the important task of enjoying your most precious of assets with family and friends.

We can offer a dedicated in-house assistant to manage and run your payroll each month. As crew payroll is usually the largest single expense a superyacht will incur each month, it is essential that salaries are managed accurately and that employment and tax legislation is adhered to.

Our accounts team can manage, review and process all payments, provide payslips for each crew member and give advice for crew pay management.

Find out more

Having been created as a way of improving conditions for all those who work at sea, the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC 2006) brought together dozens of existing pieces of legislation from the International Maritime Organization.

Areas covered by the MLC 2006 include crew accommodation, payroll, employment contracts, complaint procedures and employee rights. To add to the complexity, as well as home port registration, individual crew nationality can also have an impact on the yacht’s obligations.

Although it can seem challenging, working with our skilled team of yacht management professionals will assist you and your superyacht crew in ensuring 100% compliance to the MLC 2006, giving you peace of mind for any potential inspections by port state control.

Working with numerous yachts on a daily basis to maintain compliance, we understand the nuances and very latest updates on MLC 2006 regulation. Whether you have recently delivered new build superyacht, or a private vessel looking to move into charter, we will guide you through the process of obtaining a Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance Certificate (DMLCC) and maintaining your status of compliance going forwards.
