Tackling technical marine challenges has been in Anthony’s blood since his first boat project at the age of eight: a 10ft skiff he built with his father. Having qualified and worked as both a marine engineer and captain, Anthony’s 1998 debut into yachting at a technically based project management firm saw him heading up some of the most advanced new build superyacht projects with the world’s top superyacht builders. He founded Edge Yachts in 2012 based on the philosophy of providing project and yacht management services that assist the captain and crew in keeping the owner’s interests the number one priority.
Mark first started out his professional career at sea over 35 years ago, living and working on a yacht and then working for the US Coast Guard between 1981 and 2004. During this time, he served in positions enforcing federal maritime law, environmental protection regulations and marine safety standards, which provided him with the ideal background to become a yacht management guru with an eye for detail and instinct for onboard safety. After serving two commands, he retired from the US Coast Guard and worked in superyacht management for six years before joining the team at Edge Yachts.
Darrell left the family farm at 16 years old and began his seagoing career as a deck officer cadet in the commercial world of shipping. He obtained certificates of competency whilst rising through the ranks of the Blue Star Line, Finnish icebreaker Sisu, P&O and Disney Cruise Line. When taking command, Darrell went on to successfully reinvent his own family's 170-year-old interests within ship owning and management. Darrell's yachting career started on Christina O, and he then spent five years onboard yachts Le Grand Bleu and Pelorus, on continuous worldwide voyages, gaining unmatched experience with Blue Ocean Yacht Management. In 2006, he became an independent yacht regulations specialist, providing ISM, ISPS, MLC 2006, NVTRP and other regulatory solutions for independent large yachts and yacht management companies. Darrell has built up significant hands-on experience in the management and operation of yachts given the plethora with which he has been involved - from classics to new, large (120m+) and small. Living on the Isle of Man, in his spare time, Darrell loves nothing more than assisting looking after 300 sheep on his farm, tinkering with classic cars and steam road rollers, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting along with looking after his family's two beloved Afghan hounds.
Christina keeps us in check and makes sure everything runs smoothly at Edge Yachts. With a keen eye for detail and strong customer service background, she appreciates the high standards and many demands that are put on superyacht captains and their crew. She has a professional background in real estate development and design, and in her free time she loves nothing more than being in the outdoors – whether in hot or cold climates – biking, hiking, skiing and snorkelling.
After eight years in corporate accounting, Audrey joined Edge Yachts to bolster our team approach to yacht management. She thrives on the demanding and multi-faceted business of yachting and keeps our valuable accounts in order using her exceptional organizational skills. Having previously worked in the hotel industry and in real estate investment, she has a professional interest in excellence. Audrey graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. She brings technical expertise and personal experience to her position, having traveled extensively whenever she had the opportunity. She fits in neatly with the spirit that runs throughout the Edge Yachts team.
After completing university in the US, Mikaela pursued another lifelong dream of working in sailing through a career in the yachting industry. She spent several years learning and teaching sailing at local schools in the South of England and eventually became immersed in the large yacht community, making the transition to working on superyachts and racing yachts. Mikaela quickly moved up the ranks to chief stewardess on motoryachts and sailing yachts, logging thousands of sea miles and working with the discerning clientele of superyachts. After a number of years at sea, she came back ashore and made Barcelona her home, continuing to work with luxury yachts and providing the same standard of service and dedication expected by the guests onboard, but now providing support to the yachts and crews themselves.
